Ritual Information
Devotee name, Gotra, Sankalpa and other ritual details are shared only where reasonably necessary for the selected Temple or Pandit to perform the requested service.
Delivery Information
Recipient name, address, PIN code and mobile number may be shared with India Post or another logistics provider when required to deliver Prasadam or another physical item.
Devalaya respects your privacy. This Policy describes how Anek Technologies Private Limited handles personal information collected through Devalaya and its services.
1. Who We Are
Devalaya is owned and operated by Anek Technologies Private Limited. We provide a spiritual-technology platform that enables devotees to discover temples and access Puja, Prasadam, Chadhava, Homa, temple events and other religious and devotional services.
2. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Devalaya website, mobile applications, account registration, bookings, payments, customer support, fulfilment, delivery and related Devalaya services.
Third-party websites and services may have their own privacy practices.
3. Account and Contact Information
We may collect your name, mobile number, email address, profile information and authentication-related information required to create, secure and manage your Devalaya account.
4. Devotee and Ritual Information
Certain Puja, Seva, Chadhava or Homa bookings may require information such as the devotee's name, family member names, Gotra, Rashi, Nakshatra, Sankalpa details or other information relevant to the requested religious service.
Such information is used primarily to facilitate the religious service requested by you and may be communicated to the relevant Temple, Pandit or authorised service partner where required for fulfilment.
5. Booking and Transaction Information
We may collect information relating to bookings and transactions, including order reference, Temple, selected service, booking date, service date, amount, payment status, transaction reference, cancellation or refund information and fulfilment status.
6. Delivery and Recipient Information
Where Prasadam or another physical item is to be delivered, we may collect recipient name, mobile number, delivery address, city, district, state, PIN code, delivery instructions and shipment or tracking information.
If you provide information about another person, you should do so only where you are authorised to provide that information for the requested service.
7. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by authorised third-party payment service providers. Devalaya may receive transaction-related information such as payment status, transaction reference, amount and payment method category.
Devalaya does not intend to store complete card numbers, CVV numbers, UPI PINs or online-banking passwords on its systems.
8. Customer Support and Communications
When you contact Devalaya, we may collect your contact details, booking information, correspondence, complaints, support requests, feedback and information reasonably necessary to resolve your request.
9. Reviews and User-Submitted Content
Where reviews, ratings, photographs or other submissions are available, we may collect the information you choose to provide.
Information intentionally published in a public review may be visible to other users. You should avoid including unnecessary personal information in public reviews.
10. Technical and Usage Information
Depending on the technologies enabled on Devalaya, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, application version, access times, pages or features accessed, diagnostic data, error information and security logs.
11. Location Information
Where a Devalaya feature requires location, we may process approximate or device-provided location information with the permissions required by the relevant device or platform.
Location may be used for locally relevant temple information, Panchanga or other location-dependent features.
12. How We Use Personal Information
Personal information may be used to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, process bookings, facilitate temple services, arrange payments and deliveries, provide customer support, process cancellations and refunds, maintain records, prevent fraud, secure the Platform, improve Devalaya and comply with applicable legal obligations.
13. Sharing with Temples and Pandits
Certain services cannot be performed without sharing relevant information with the concerned Temple, Pandit or authorised fulfilment representative.
For example, where Sankalpa is required, we may share the devotee name, Gotra and other ritual information provided for that booking.
We endeavour to limit such sharing to information reasonably necessary to fulfil the requested service.
14. Logistics and Delivery Partners
Where physical delivery is requested, relevant recipient and shipment information may be shared with India Post, courier or other logistics partners for shipment creation, transport, tracking, delivery and handling of delivery exceptions.
15. Payment and Technology Service Providers
Information may be shared with trusted service providers used for payment processing, hosting, infrastructure, authentication, communications, security, analytics, customer support and other functions necessary to operate Devalaya.
We seek to provide such service providers only the information reasonably required for the function they perform.
16. Government and Legal Disclosures
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a lawful court order or valid regulatory request, investigate fraud or unlawful activity, protect Platform security, protect users or third parties, or establish and defend legal claims.
17. Sale of Personal Information
Devalaya does not sell personal information to third parties for monetary consideration.
18. Transactional and Marketing Communications
Devalaya may send transactional communications necessary for OTP, payment confirmation, booking updates, Puja or service updates, delivery information, security and customer support.
Promotional communications may be sent in accordance with applicable law and the communication choices made available to users.
19. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Devalaya may use cookies and similar technologies for sessions, authentication, preferences, security, Platform performance and usage understanding.
Where consent is legally required for particular non-essential technologies, appropriate choices will be provided.
20. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or destruction.
No electronic system can guarantee absolute security, and users should also protect their devices, accounts and OTPs.
21. Data Breach
If Devalaya becomes aware of a personal-data breach, we will investigate and take appropriate measures to contain, mitigate and remediate the incident.
Where notification is required under applicable law, Devalaya will make such notifications in the manner and timeframe legally applicable at that time.
22. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or where retention is required or permitted by law.
Information may be retained where necessary for pending bookings, customer support, financial and accounting records, payment reconciliation, refunds, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance and legal claims.
23. Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion through an available account feature or by contacting Devalaya.
Following a valid request, information will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, except where it must or may lawfully be retained for pending transactions, financial records, disputes, fraud prevention, refunds or legal obligations.
24. Access and Correction
Users may request correction, completion or updating of inaccurate or incomplete personal information and may request information concerning their personal data as available under applicable law.
Identity verification may be required before processing certain privacy requests.
25. Withdrawal of Consent
Where processing is based on consent, users may withdraw that consent through an available mechanism or by contacting Devalaya.
Withdrawal applies to future processing based on that consent and does not invalidate processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
26. Information About Children
Devalaya's transactional services are intended to be booked by persons legally capable of entering into the relevant transaction or by an authorised adult.
A parent or authorised adult may provide a child's name or other information where legitimately required for a Puja, Sankalpa or religious service performed for that child.
27. Information About Other People
You may provide information about family members, Puja beneficiaries, Prasadam recipients or other individuals only where you are authorised to provide such information for the relevant service.
28. Third-Party Websites and Services
Devalaya may contain links to Temples, government websites, payment services, logistics providers, social-media platforms or other external services.
Those third parties may have their own privacy practices, and Devalaya is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of websites or services it does not operate.
29. Business Transfers
If Anek Technologies Private Limited undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring or transfer of business, information associated with Devalaya may be transferred as part of that transaction where legally permitted and subject to applicable privacy requirements.
30. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances of processing, users may have rights or choices relating to access, correction, updating, withdrawal of consent, deletion, grievance redressal and other rights provided under applicable law.
31. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, data practices or legal requirements change.
The latest version and effective date will be displayed on Devalaya. Where required by law, additional notice or consent will be provided for material changes.
