Sri Mayakka Devi Temple (Chinchali)

Sri Mayakka Temple is the main temple of Chinchali, worshiped by Hindus and shepherds, worshiped by various names like Mahakali, Makubai, Mayavva. The temple is located in Chinchali village of Raibag taluk in Belgaum district of Karnataka, the temple has a stone building. The temple has a 50 feet gate in the east. In front of the entrance there are large stone elephants of attractive style. The statue of Goddess Mayakka is very attractive. It is 3 feet high and made of black stone. On her head is a crown and a seven-headed serpent. She has gold ornaments on her body. She holds a trident in her right hand and a serpent in her left hand. Goddess Mayakka is always worshiped in a red or green saree. The temple had 50 foot door in the east. This Goddess has millions of devotees of Goddess Mayakka in most parts of India like Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Orissa, Gujarat etc. Sri Mayakka Devi is Goddess Shakti and Parvati.
